Scott Maulsby already knows what it’s like to open his arms to those in need on a personal basis. Now, one of Nashville’s newest entrepreneurs is doing the same on a professional basis, too.
The 43-year-old Lebanon resident didn’t marry until he was 39. But Maulsby and his wife, Carrie – who became foster parents in 2012 – now have five children, including two adopted boys, Jackson (3) and Ridley (1). The rest of the Maulsby brood includes Kenzie (21), Madi (20) and Zoi (3).
As if he didn’t have enough to keep him busy, Maulsby became a first-time franchise owner this past November with the opening of Experimax in Mount Juliet, a one-of-a-kind retail storefront concept that specializes in sales of pre-owned Apple® computers and devices; repair of laptops, phones and tablets; trade-ins of existing devices;; and sales of accessories.
Maulsby will have some help in running the store located at 3384 N. Mount Juliet Rd. Maulsby’s parents, Nick and Barb Maulsby, will be assisting with the store’s marketing efforts while daughter, Kenzie, is relocating from Florida to work as a sales/service associate for the business.
“My wife and I are family friends of (Experimax founder) Jim Muir,” Maulsby said. “We knew the Muir family when they were still working from their garage before opening their first storefront in West Palm Beach known as The Mac Toy Store. We love the business model and love Apple®products so it was a good fit for our family.”
